Are you an Accounting major looking for some real-world experience? We have a part-time opportunity in Corporate Accounting in Omaha, NE with flexible daytime hours, typically about 20 hours per week.


Primary responsibilities include:


  • Assist with balance sheet account reconciliations and other analysis during the month end closing process
  • Assist in various aspects of the treasury function, which may include tasks such as vouchering of wire payments, assisting with daily cash reporting, working with debt payments or reconciliations, etc.
  • Use Excel to build and update spreadsheets for a variety of analysis
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and process

Other responsibilities could include:


Accounts Receivable: Sorting, stuffing, and emailing of invoices; maintaining credit files of both new customers and updates on existing customers; cash application including assisting A/R Specialist on large deposits and/or posting Canadian deposits.


Accounts Payable: Daily filing of AP input; processing AP invoices; assisting with weekly check run/mailing; assisting with daily incoming & outgoing mail

Fixed Assets: Sorting invoices from AP to proper project; reviewing and assigning asset numbers; cross-training with AP to obtain invoice approvals; filing UCC paperwork.


Plant Accounting: Assisting with completion of balance sheet account reconciliations; assist with booking of journal entries (sales, A/P accruals, various others) during month-end; analyzing P&L s and collaborating with plant accountants to obtain information from plant locations; analyzing PEA (capital and project spending) expected vs. actual benefits


    Qualifications:


    Required:

    • Enrolled as a junior or senior in an college or university and pursuing an undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance
    • Maintains a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

    Preferred:

    • Completed a minimum of an introductory accounting college-level coursework
    • Extra-curricular or volunteer experience related to accounting
    • Previous internship or other experience in the accounting field
